HISTORY OF SCHOOL OF CREATIVE ARTS
SCA was founded in 26 April 2018 under the leadership and guidance of His Excellency Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Chairman and President of the University of Cambodian. The School of Creative Arts is a newly established school in the University of Cambodia. This is the first ever private School of Creative Arts in the Kingdom of Cambodia, designed to facilitate students with a passionate interest in the arts.
SCA primarily consists of three parts: Music and Songs, Dancing and Dramatic, in which the curricula are designed to meet national and international standards with Certificate Degrees, Associate Degrees, Bachelor Degrees and a postgraduate level to ensure that students will become professional artists, teachers and leading researchers.
During the opening of the School of Creative Arts in the academic year 2018-2019, His Excellency Kao Kim Hourn, Founder, Chairman and President of the University of Cambodia, is pleased to provide 250 full scholarships to encourage students and artists who are passionate about the arts and have a strong desire to study at the University of Cambodia.
ABOUT SCHOOL OF CREATIVE ARTS
The School of Creative Arts (SCA) is one of the Schools in The University of Cambodia. This School of Arts is focused on Arts-Music, Arts-Dance and Arts-Dramatic for students who have earned a High School diploma and Schools of Fine Arts and who have a strong interest and talent in the arts. Successful SCA students will be admitted on the grounds of their passion and determination to make the most of the private school’s unique arts training, encouragement, and support while balancing the academic demands in the arts and culture degree.
The School of Creative Arts of The University of Cambodia sets the standard for a rigorous dual curriculum in the Associate Degree of Fine Arts (AFA) in preparation for a Bachelor Degree of Fine Arts (BFA) in arts and scholarship. SCA students will engage in exchanges of creativity, critical thinking, and civic responsibility so as to preserve the value of arts, promotions and conservation for the country’s development.
The intention of the School of Creative Arts at The University of Cambodia is to:
- Strengthen the arts and academic endeavors by way of student-oriented rigorous inquiry.
- Transfer knowledge from professional artists to learners.
- Train the talents in arts focusing on innovation of high standards in arts-integrated teaching and learning.
- Provide ample opportunities for innovation, creativity, and critical thinking.
- Establish a diverse, safe, and supportive environment in search of potential learners and artists.
